Businesses in Scotland are taking significant steps to improve or reduce their impact on the environment, often saving money in the process. The VIBES - Scottish Environment Business Awards are held each year to recognise and showcase best practice.
The VIBES - Scottish Environment Business Awards are a partnership between Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), The Scottish Government, Energy Saving Trust, Highland & Islands Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Water, Zero Waste Scotland and the 20:20 Climate Group.
VIBES - Scottish Environment Business Awards is further supported by CBI Scotland, the Institute of Directors (IoD), the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Bright Green Business, Quality Scotland and Scottish Council for Development and Industry.
The awards aim to encourage the efficient use of resources, enhance the competitiveness of businesses, improve environmental performance and support the wider goals of sustainable development including social benefits through community and staff involvement.
The VIBES - Scottish Environment Business Awards are given a high profile ceremony at the end of the year, providing a valuable opportunity to have the success of your business widely recognised. The awards are RSA accredited, which means that winners are considered for the prestigious European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE) that are held every two years.
The EBAE Awards play a crucial role in demonstrating progress on environmental and sustainability issues worldwide.
The VIBES - Scottish Environment Business Awards are open to any Scottish based business that contributes to the sustainable development of Scotland in some way.
If you have taken an effective approach to environmental improvement and sustainable development, either across the whole of your business or by focusing on only one of your activities, you could be eligible for a VIBES award.
Shortlisted candidates will receive a site visit from judges. The winners will then be selected by a final judging panel.
Entrants will be assessed against a number of criteria. For details on all of the awards categories and their criteria visit the categories section.
