Previous VIBES Awards winners from 2011, 2012 and 2013 can now apply for the EBAE Awards 2014!
The European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE) are designed to recognise and promote companies which make an outstanding contribution to sustainable development. The Awards highlight practices, processes and products from all sectors of business in the European Union which help to achieve the goal of sustainable development, by reducing the impacts on the environment of our production modes, enhancing nature’s resilience to environmental pressures, or achieving a more efficient and responsible use of natural resources.
These European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE) are the fourteenth edition of the competition and these will be officially launched in January 2014.
The EBAE are given in the following four categories, which highlight the innovative aspects of the businesses:
- Management Award for sustainable development
- Product and Services Award for sustainable development
- Process Award for sustainable development
- International Business Cooperation Award for sustainable development
The EBAE Awards process will run as follows:
- The applications open in November and close on the 12th of December.
- Once the RSA has received all of the submissions these will be sent to an independent UK judging panel who will assess the projects against a set of predetermined criteria.
- Final selection will take place January 2014 and VIBES will be notified which of our entries, if any, have been selected as finalists.
- Up to 12 UK Entries from the 9 feeder schemes will then be selected to go forward to Europe and the closing date for national entries is the 27th of April 2014.
- National entries will be assessed by the European judging panel along with the submissions from the other 28 member states in May 2014.
- The EBAE Jury will then meet in Rome in late September 2014 and the EBAE award ceremony will take place in November 2014.
