Gillian Bruce, chair of the VIBES Awards, gets ready for the 2015 ceremony
The countdown is officially on for the 2015 VIBES Awards which take place next week in Edinburgh’s Sheraton Hotel.
The ceremony will see 27 finalists gather together for the unveiling of this year’s winners. Once again the calibre of entries has been exceptional and has helped illustrate the diversity of companies contributing to Scotland’s sustainability.
This year’s entries included a variety of sectors, from house building to live food transportation services, each putting sustainability at the heart of their businesses and in turn, enhancing their competitiveness, saving money and supporting wider social benefits. These are just some of the benefits we are keen to promote to Scotland’s business community through the VIBES awards, highlighting that a greener approach is not just good for the environment but it’s good for business too.
Each of our finalists has received a visit from our leading panel of judges whose decision making has been put to the test with some excellent environmental credentials displayed.
As the final preparations get underway for the 2015 VIBES Awards, I would like to congratulate all of our finalists in getting this far in what is a particularly rigorous judging process and wish them all well ahead of next week’s ceremony.
Those who are fortunate enough to be crowned winners of the 2015 Awards will each become eligible to enter the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBEA), showcasing their efforts on the European stage.
With a week to go, it’s an exciting time for VIBES and I am really looking forward to congratulating our 2015 award winners and celebrating with all those taking part.
